Crissie is passionate about helping couples create relationships and families that thrive. Currently, she works exclusively with couples wanting to improve romantic relationships. She first discovered her love of working with families when she was a teenager teaching children how to surf at Surf Diva Surf School in La Jolla, California. Later, she worked as a massage therapist and holistic health educator at a family focused chiropractic center. After her own children were born, she was a preschool teacher and taught Joy of Parenting classes, training under Susie Walton of Indigo Village. Crissie's love of working with parents, led her to graduate school, where her passion for couples therapy was ignited. She holds a Master Degree in Marital and Family Therapy and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of San Diego. Her clinical experience includes offering services at Shakti Rising, a transformational recovery program for women overcoming addiction, trauma, and abuse. In addition she provided school-based therapy for children and families at High Tech High schools. Crissie has always offered a holistic approach to counseling and previously worked at the Soul of Yoga in Encinitas where she provided couples therapy and relationships groups and workshops. She is a certified Perinatal Mental Health Therapist with Postpartum Support International and an advocate for family mental health in the Encinitas community and beyond. Crissie is immersed in the training and application of Emotionally Focused Therapy and serves as Chair on the Board for the San Diego Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy. In addition to counseling, she loves to create community, teach, and facilitate workshops. When she is not at work, you can find her surfing, trail running, doing yoga, or relaxing with her life partner and their five children.
